TNCareerHub.in

If you are applying for a government job online for the first time, the process can feel confusing. Multiple portals, different document formats, fee payment issues, certificate uploads - it is easy to make a mistake that gets your application rejected.

This guide walks you through the entire process, step by step, so you can apply confidently without any errors.

Before You Start: What You Need Ready

Do not begin any application without having these ready. Missing documents midway will cause errors.

  • Community Certificate (BC / MBC / SC / ST - if applicable)
  • Nativity or Residence Certificate
  • Aadhar Card (both sides)
  • Recent Passport Photo - white background, taken in the last 3 months

Log in with your Registration Number and Password. Go to "Latest Notifications" and click "Apply" next to your exam. Your basic details will be auto-filled.

Step 3: Upload Photo and Signature

Upload photograph and signature in the specified format. Preview them before proceeding.

Step 4: Pay the Examination Fee

TNPSC Fee: Rs.150 (General) | Free for SC/ST/Differently Abled/Destitute Widow

Step 5: Download Confirmation Page

After successful payment, download and save the application confirmation page as a PDF. Do not close the tab before downloading.

Common Mistakes That Get Applications Rejected

Mistake 1: Name mismatch

Your name in the application must match your certificates exactly. If your 10th certificate says "VIGNESH KUMAR R" but you type "Vignesh Kumar", it can cause issues during document verification.

Mistake 2: Wrong category selection

If you select the wrong community category (e.g., OBC instead of General), your application may be rejected or you will lose the benefits of your actual category. Cross-check your Community Certificate before selecting.

Mistake 3: Photo not meeting specifications

The most common rejection reason. Common issues: photo taken against a coloured wall, photo has cap/hat, photo is not recent.

Mistake 4: Paying fee and not submitting

Some portals allow you to pay the fee separately from form submission. Paying the fee does not mean you have applied - you must complete the submission step.

Mistake 5: Using someone else email or phone number

Always use your own active mobile number and email ID. You will miss admit card alerts, result notifications, and OTPs otherwise.
