About This Notification
The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have officially released Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 01/2026 for recruitment to 11,127 posts of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) across various Railway Zones in India. This is one of the biggest railway job opportunities of 2026 for candidates looking to apply online for government jobs in Indian Railways. Eligible candidates with Matriculation/SSLC along with ITI in relevant trades, or a Diploma/Engineering Degree in relevant disciplines, and aged between 18 to 30 years as on 01.07.2026 can apply online at www.rrbapply.gov.in from 15 May to 14 June 2026. The selected candidates will be placed at Pay Level-2 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Pay Matrix with an initial pay of Rs.19,900/- per month along with applicable Railway allowances. The selection process involves CBT Stage 1 (screening), CBT Stage 2 (Part A – merit-based, Part B – qualifying), Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), Document Verification, and Medical Examination. The final merit is prepared with 50% weightage to CBT-2 Part A and 50% to CBAT. Application fee is Rs.500/- for General/OBC/EWS (Rs.400/- refunded after CBT-1) and Rs.250/- for SC/ST/Women/PwBD/Ex-SM (fully refunded after CBT-1). All 21 Railway Recruitment Boards across India are participating. Candidates must verify Aadhaar details before submitting the form. The post of ALP carries Medical Standard A-1.
