Exam Pattern
The General Tamil section contains 100 questions for 150 marks and is part of the 3-hour Group 4 written examination. The questions cover Tamil language, grammar, literature and comprehension based on the prescribed syllabus. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
Difficulty: The 2025 General Tamil paper was moderate overall, with a mix of direct and application-based questions. Strong familiarity with Tamil grammar, literature, vocabulary and prescribed school-level content was useful.
